Day 3

To finish the soundhole, we simply carve it with a knife using the pencil line as a reference and taking care of the grain direction.

The original Manuel Ramirez from 1910 we copy here was build with a tornavoz. Mostly used during the 1920's - 1930's, the tornavoz is a conical piece fixed under the soundhole. It can be made with paper, wood, brass... but the best results generally come with a loud and long tornavoz. The aim is to get louder basses.

During the afternoon we reached the conservatory of Bologna for the "Settimana Chitarra 2016".

Programm :

Guitar show from italian makers : Roberto Pozzi, Giancarlo Nannoni, Sergio Tomassone, Gioachino Giussani, a good opportunity for the students to test the guitars and for us to hear them.

We also had a lecture from Stefano Picciano about the composer Miguel Llobet and Lorenzo presented hi last book about the guitar in Italy. The composer Piero Bonaguri presented his new composition "Homenaje a Rodrigo", a teacher from the conservatory played a piece.
